Bees, wasps, and snails

I was busy in the backyard today, clearing out prickles and ivy, sit at the table outside for a break, and spy this lovely bee sitting on my table.  So, off I go, into the house to grab my camera.....

A little while later, I spotted this guy on the deck railing, posing just for me :)

Here is a TINY snail Gavin found in the dirt where I was removing some of the ivy - I think I must have found at least 15 snail shells, many of them cracked and broken...  and in all of that, he managed to find the tiniest, alive, little snail :)  

This first photo is of the snail on the lenscap for my camera.... 

Here is the shell on Gavin's little finger - he did such a good job holding still for this photo :)
